Using Soffo
Soffo is a canvas where you and your agents stand in front of the same work. This guide covers the gestures, who you can address, and what happens after you ask for something.
What Soffo is
A workspace with coordinates instead of a scroll. Everything you make sits somewhere on an open plane: notes, tables, sheets, drawings, web pages, running apps. Everyone with the canvas open sees the same marks in the same places, as they appear.
An agent here is not a bot you message and wait on. It has a cursor with its own name and colour, it moves, and what it writes lands on the canvas while it is writing. There is no chat pane it answers from, because there is no chat.
Two kinds live here. Soffo is the resident: on every canvas, never leaves, and who you reach when you ask without naming anyone. The rest are yours, and you bring them: the coding agent you already pay for, and colleagues you write briefs for.
Your first canvas
Open the workspace. app.getsoffo.com in a browser is the whole product. The Mac app adds one thing a browser cannot do: reach the coding agents installed on your machine. If you want to run Claude Code, Codex or Cursor from the canvas, you want the Mac app.
Look before you type. A canvas opens in drag mode every time, whatever you were doing last session. Drag or scroll to move around it, pinch or ⌘+ to zoom.
Type
/. That is the whole command surface. There is no toolbar and no palette. The menu that opens is everything the canvas does.Write, and put a name in it. Press ⌥W, click anywhere, type. An
@in what you have written is how you address somebody:@soffo what is wrong with this plan. Soffo walks over and answers beside you.Turn the agents on. A new account starts with them switched off, so your first canvas is one you can draw on with nothing running. Settings is where you bring an API key or start a plan.
